universal remote controller

hi,
i’m doing my masters and i’m making a touch screen based universal remote controller using zigbee as my project….
so if i’m going to take a television as one of the things to show then tell me how ccan i convert zigbee into IR….
and may i know how can i interface lcd or a graphical lcd with touch panel….?
what are the possible ways to convert zigbee into IR?
