I am trying to clone a 40GB HDD, XP PRO OS, NTFS…
GHOST 2003, I am pretty sure I can’t run GHOST from inside XP, or CMD Prompt. How exactly do I boot into DOS so that I can run GHOST?
Here is one option I have…I have a 3.4GB HDD, Win98A, FAT32.
I have a 40GB HDD that had XP PRO, but got really messed up and the Partion was unrecognized so it couldn’t load XP. The origional partition was NTFS. None the less I formatted the HDD as per my bosses request, to just start from scratch…
For some reason I can’t just reinstall XP, after I reinstall, XP starts to load and I get a blue screen with a WHOLE BUNCH of Error codes and instructions to uninstall any new hardware or software, etc…
IF XP does load, I continue installing Office, Works, Nero…all the programs that were previously installed. When I reboot the HDD loses the Partition again…What is the deal with that? The only way that worked was with GHOST from the 3.4GB HDD, but I ran into problems with updating to XP and with the 40GB HDD keeping its ACTUAL GB SIZE, not displaying 3.4GB.
Also, XP became really unstable after updating from Win98A…
I am going to try again from a differant HDD either 20GB or 80GB with XP and all Software already installed….BUT HOW DO I DO IT FROM XP NTFS?
I get the msg. stating that GHOST cannot run from Windows NT…
Any tips or instructions will be greatly appriciated !!!!!!!ASAP
