Using Ghost to Clone a cmptrs w/WinXPSP2

Does anyone know if you can use Symantec Ghosst 8.0 to clone a current users computer with WinXP SP2, and have them keep their settings.

I used the image of the current computers to setup a new machine. I configured the computer for one of our users and I then installed SP2. I then created another image with the SP2 installed on that computer. When I ran the the image, it removed all of the users settings and then and created the same login that I used to take the image.

Is there a way around that, to install the SP2 image all of the current machines in house and not have the users lose their desktop configurations. It’s a pain to have to touch every machine.

P.S. We cannot use AD, becuse some of the user are still working with win98.
