Using LMHOSTS file

I wrote LMHOSTS file for mapping NetBIOS names into IP addresses of our local network and gave it to a remote user who can access LAN via dial-up connection. The user placed this file on his local hard disk, enabled LMHOSTS in WINS settings. The problem is that that user can ping LAN nones by NetBIOS names successfully, but he can’t access this nodes by NetBIOS names using Windows “Find Computer” dialog.
Any sugggessions?
