Back in the day (i.e., pre-Internet Bubble) I was told to bring a copy of “Star Trek: Generations” when I went shopping for new speakers. The scene where the Enterprise crashes onto the planet has everything?dialogue and music playing above the gigantic booming sound effects of the crash. So you get to hear how all the speakers and bass work together, made for a very good test of the speakers.
I still love the speakers I picked up from that experience, a nice 5.1 set of Energy speakers. But they’re getting old, and I’d rather not have such big tower speakers dominating the living room anymore. So I?d like to go shopping for a replacement set.
What?s the current equivalent to “Star Trek: Generations”? What movie, and what scene within that movie, are people using these days when they go shopping for new speakers?
