What is Arial (W1) font?

I had a user with that font for her entire Word XP document. When she would apply formatting to the first paragraph, it would apply it to the entire document. I changed her font to Arial, and now it acts like a normal Word document.

Any ideas on Arial (W1)? I have never used it and was just curious about this behavior.
