What to expect for jobs, salary, and certifications in New England

Looking for feedback on jobs in the Northeast. Are employers looking more at certifications than experience or is it a balance? Also what should I expect for salaries. I am enterprise support tech with 15 years in the field. Right now living in North Carolina. Looking for any help on this.
