Wireless connectivity lost after Windows XP Home Update (D-Link G520 card)

Strangest thing! I finally got my daughter’s system back online after replacing a HD and while I was at it upgrading from W2000 to XP Home. Happily I updated my Norton antivirus definitions and then did a Windows Update, both using the wireless connectivity. When I rebooted (as Windows wanted following the update) I lost the wireless connectivity.

Now I get no singal & I can’t even get the D-Link utility to come up. I checked that the firewall XP function is disabled. Has anyone else had a problem like this?
