I have been using outlook97 for the past several years. My boss happened into my
office one day when I was putting an appointment in my calendar. He is not very
computer oriented, and was curios and amazed that we had a program on our
computers like outlook. After a few lessons he was soon using outlook on his
computer. Now that he has learned some of outlooks features, he wants everyone in
the office to use it and send email instead of wandering around the office. We
are a small outfit of only 10 people. I set up a workgroup postoffice on our NT
Server and assigned all users a mailbox. When someone clicks on “Check for New
Mail” the “Deliver Messages” box displays with “Checking for new messages and
sending outgoing messages” and a cancel button. Then almost immediately
a “Microsft Mail” box displays with a warning triangle and the following….”The
file is currently in use.” and an OK button. Press the OK button and your back to
the inbox with no email. When we try to send email, we can see everyone in the
workgroup postoffice, but what is wrong that we can not send or receive email?
