XP Mode Application When Windows 7 Host Shutdown Occurs

Greetings,

As the title indicates – I have a small application that runs on a client’s computer automatically upon bootup. The application starts in XP Mode (virtual machine), and must continue running during all operations.

When my client wants to shut her computer down, she gets a message indicating that the application is running, and it prompts her to terminate it.

Is there a way to get a guest application running in XP Mode to receive notification that the host OS is shutting down, and have it terminate?

I’d appreciate any solution, as this is a nuisance to my client.
