XP reinstall

i am in the process of reinstalling xp home, at the “installing devices” page 3 of the 5 bubbles are complete but the process freezes at the fourth. it says there is 34 minutes remaining but its been a couple of hours. is there a step i missed or what, any help would be…helpful. thanks
