Canva marked its 100th Visual Suite upgrade of 2026 on Sept. 3 after rolling out new capabilities across Docs, Presentations, Sheets, Whiteboards, Websites, and Video. The pace works out to nearly one upgrade every other day, according to Canva co-founder and chief product officer Cameron Adams.
For marketing, communications, and reporting teams already using Canva, the most useful changes are the ones that reduce exporting, rebuilding, and switching between separate tools.
Canva says the upgrades address more than 55,000 user-submitted wishes, ideas, and suggestions. More than 100 million people use Canva Presentations every month, Docs usage has more than tripled over the past three years, and Canva says its enterprise business has doubled in the last year.
Which updates cut repetitive work
Docs gained end-to-end banners, drag-and-drop visuals, and other layout improvements, while Presentations picked up one-click presenting and auto-generated presenter notes. These changes reduce setup time but largely improve workflows that were already available in Canva.
Sheets gained AI tools that can analyze data and turn it into charts and tables. Canva says that output can then move into presentations and Docs without manual exporting and reuploading.
Google Workspace is adding similar AI-powered data analysis, but Canva combines the analysis and presentation stages inside the same Visual Suite project.
Whiteboards gained Follow Collaborators, one-click reactions, and easier movement from brainstorming into finished work. Teams can also turn a Whiteboard into a Doc instead of rebuilding workshop notes before circulating them.
Microsoft is also expanding collaboration features in Teams, while Canva is tying Whiteboards more directly to the documents and presentations teams create afterward.
Canva Websites gained custom navigation for up to 20 sections, SEO titles, and domain controls. Canva says users now publish close to one million new websites a month. The additions can cover lightweight campaign or project sites without requiring another site builder, although Canva does not replace a full content management system.
Video is included in the 100-plus upgrade count, but Canva’s milestone announcement does not identify a comparably specific new Video workflow.
Teams using the new AI features should test generated charts against known reporting data and check how much manual cleanup remains when content moves from Sheets into Docs or presentations.
What IT should verify before wider rollout
Canva’s adoption figures describe scale rather than how deeply companies rely on the platform. More than 100 million monthly Presentation users and a doubled enterprise business do not reveal seat depth or how much work runs through centrally governed deployments.
Canva’s Enterprise documentation lists SSO, SCIM provisioning, role-based access controls, audit logs, data residency options, and Canva Shield controls for AI access.
IT and procurement teams should still confirm plan-specific AI limits, regional requirements, contract terms, and what business data employees intend to route into AI-assisted features. Guidance on data that should stay out of AI chatbots can provide a baseline for deciding what should remain outside general-purpose AI workflows.
The most consequential updates are the ones that let teams carry the same work from Whiteboards to Docs, Sheets, presentations, and lightweight websites with less exporting and rebuilding between each stage.
