Okay in my ignorance, somehow I have managed to create 2 workgroups between the 4 computers on my network. All can access the internet, 1 cannot share files. How can I easily rectify this without having to reinstall windows, or creating an extra network connection?
workgroups:
MSHOME: has my laptop running win xp
WORKGROUP: has my “server” computer that has win xp and is where the interenet connection is. Also has a laptop running vista. and occasionally another laptop running xp.
***UPDATE***
maybe I should play some more before I ask, but here we go anyway. I resolved the orginal problem by going to control panel, system, computer name tab and updating the workgroup there. (YAY i figured out something on my own!)
but now I am getting I do not have permission error when I try to access the other shared areas. Am I missing something?
