Heres my setup:
Computer 1:
Ethernet NIC Cable to Wireless Router
IP 192.168.0.2 / 255.255.255.0 / 192.168.0.5
Static assignment by router
Access to Intranet Yes
Access to Internet Yes
Router: DLink DI-624 Wireless
WAN IP Provided by ISP
LAN IP 192.168.0.5 Static
DHCP Server Yes
Range allowed: 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.2
Computer 2:
Wireless NIC to Router
Ethernet NIC Cable to Computer 3
Wireless NIC IP 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0 /
192.168.0.5 – Static assignment by router
(This IP is required for WinXP to enable Internet Connection Sharing on this NIC)
Ethernet NIC IP 10.10.10.5 / 255.255.255.0
Access to Intranet Yes
Access to Internet Yes
Computer 3:
Ethernet NIC Cable to Computer 2
IP 10.10.10.10 / 255.255.255.0 / 10.10.10.5
Access to Intranet Yes
Access to Internet Yes AND NO
Computer 2, running Windows XP Professional has IP Routing Enabled and Internet Connection Sharing Enabled for the Wireless NIC.
Computer 3 can see the router and computers 1 and 2. Computer 3 can ping its way as far as the ISP on the WAN side of the router.
Here’s the problem: Computer 3 CANNOT access the internet using any browser (IE Explorer or Netscape).
Why can I ping the ISP but not access the internet with computer 3?
