3com palm m500 connection to WIN NT

by x_it . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I have supplied a 3COM Palm 500 PDA unit to my customer who is operating primarily on Windows 2000 servers and “WIN 2000 Professional” workstations.
Their problem is that they need to use the Palm to connect with a Windows NT4 Workstation. The PALMis supplied with USB the desktop doesn’t support USB. It has no infra red capability and no SCSI controller interface either.

The PALM distributor has stated that the manufacturer has not givren a release date for the release of a serial interface and that they do not themselves support any 3rd party solutions and therefore cannot advise on this problem.

The customer needs functionality to transfer data synchronise Outlook etc.. on a regular basis.

I am considering maybe a serial/parallel converter or perhaps a serial/scsi converter?

So far I have had no success – can anybody suggest any thing that might work? As you probably suspected this solution is needed yesterday.
