4 drives in an array

I have a server with Raid 5 using 4 72gb drives. We are running out of space so we bought a fifth 72 gb drive to add for expanding and extending. My question is when I look in disk management it shows 63gb of unallocated disk space before I put the new drive in. I am not sure why.
