This may be a dumb question, I am a university student and we use Resnet here which requires 802.1x authentication and i was just wondering how could i get mine to be wireless? Is it even possible to do, if so is there a router or switch i should buy (expectd prices?) and how could i configure it; or could i use a computer as a server for a router (i am thinking this could be much cheaper since i have extra computers; shoudl i use my linux or windows?) and if so how would i go about doing any of this. I just want to use my laptop anywhere in my apartment and play ps3 online at the sametime without a huge ethernet cable on the floor.
The message i got from our IT guy here is that they do not support any wireless networking of any kind. or use on gaming systems other than a pc system.
