A drive missing in control panel…..

I am running windows 2000 and my A (floppy) drive is missing in the control panel. I am getting a error code 31 that windows cannot load drivers. I checked devive manager and there is a yellow ! instead of a named device. The device was working earlier in the week. Thanks for any help.
