a mac keeps crashing a network

I have 8 pc’s running on a peer 2 peer network going through a router, One guy has a mac book and a apple desktop( the rest are all xp) when the mac or the apple come online it crashes the network, the router has to be rebooted. The router is providing dhcp. Anyone have any thoughts
