A mapped network drive question?

by jfuller05 . Updated 16 years, 5 months ago

I use Genie Backup and have it on a network drive separate from the server (using Windows server 2008). When you log on to the server, you can see the Genie backup drive as a mapped network drive in My Computer. Sometimes, the drive disconnects from the network and you have to log into the Genie drive for it to reconnect(username and password). I read that there is a default timeout of typically 15 minutes and then Windows Server will drop the connection to free up resources. My question, I guess, is there a way to have an always established connection the drive?
