Access Control for Windows 2003 server domain

by jennysywong . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

These case happening on the connection between Window XP Pc and Windows 2003 server. This Windows 2003 server act as domain server and i need to share a folder inside Windows 2003 server. So i go to click properties of this folder, security tab, click “Advanced”, to add the domain user, for example,”userdomain88″, i also add this user at sharing tab, permissions.
When i switch on the Windows XP PC, i login the PC with that login name “userdomain88”, i can view and map network drive by browsing to this folder which is inside Windows 2003 server. But sometimes i cannot browse to the server and i m prompted with logon screen, when i type the username as “userdomain88”, i was told that logon unsuccessful. I experienced it few times usually after few hours i logon the Windows XP PC and not browse the server’s folder.I feel like my logon session has the expired time limit. When i go to ping the server IP, no problem. Very strange is when restart my Windows XP pc, no problem to browse the server’s folder again.
Please help me on this topic as i m not familiar with the access control and i scratch my head on this issue. Thanks very much.
