access denied while applying computer settings

I’m an admin over 1000’s of W2K3 Servers. Recently I’ve started seeing an odd error where the users are trying to log in with their base AD accounts and after trying to log in for 10 to 15 minutes instead of authenticating the AD users account what’s happening is the system is logging on the default user account which has no rights to do anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
