Access97 Problem

I am creating a database in Access97 and ran into a problem. The table I was working in had too many fields in it. So I decided to create a second table but I’m having problems connecting the two tables. The problem is that the whole database search fields & Queries uses this first table and I need to include it in linking the forms. Is there a way to link the 2 tables so that it acts as one? Or is there a way to increase table one fields so that I can just use the original table? HELP…..
