We have a console application that scans our exchange server’s inbox, picks up any emails with RT5 in the subject line, and then moves them to an Archive folder (which is a subfolder of the Inbox). This was working without issue until we upgraded our Exchange server to 2003. Now, our application is picking up all of the emails in the Archive folder as if they are in the Inbox folder. We’ve come to the conclusion that Exchange 2003 sees any subfolder of the Inbox as the Inbox itself. Is there any literature out there to support this finding?
We are going to move our Archive to be on the same level as the Inbox (and not part of the Inbox) and change our code but we are trying to understand this issue better.
