account logout

There are 2 XP machines on my 2000 network and ever so often the user accounts become locked out and the users can’t log onto to the domain until I unlock thier accounts.
This happens sporadically and none of the 2000 professional users have this problem (unless they forget the password which has been know to happen)
Is this a known XP or 2000 server bug ?
