Hi folks, hoping someone here may be able to help.
We inherited a company with an NT domain which we are disregarding and installing a brand new Windows 2003 domain. AD and DNS are working perfectly but when I install DHCP on any of the DC’s I get an error “An invalid directory pathname was passed” whenever I try to authorize the DHCP server on the domain. The domain is part of a larger Forest and the existing NT DHCP server is still providing leases. Plan is to authorise new DHCP server and set up all of the scopes identically to old DHCP server but leave them disabled then turn off NT scopes one at a time and turn on WIn2k3 ones. Anyone got any ideas about where I should even start looking here? Tried this on all 3 DC’s with same error. I’ve temporarily had to use an existing DHCP server on another network to get the users up and running but this is driving me nuts and I seem to be the only person in history to have come across this!
