Active Directory DNS configuration problem

by mahammad_09 . Updated 14 years, 11 months ago

Hi all
I am totally new in Active Directory. I am using Windows 7 O.S. Using RSAT I have installed all the active directory related components in my OS. From Start->Administrative Tools, I can open the DNS manager. My problem is that when I am trying to connect to DNS server, “the server is unavailable Would you like to add it any way” problem comes.
Besides, when I am openning other Active Directory snap-ins, none is working properly. For example Active directory Users and Computers snap-in throws error, naming information can not be located because the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted..”
If I use nslookup I can see my server name as “resolver1.opendns.com” and address as 208.64.222.222.
I want to use active directory for my asp.net application.
Can any one please tell me what is going on? Why I am getting such errors. Please help me.
