Active Directory-PC Joining a Domain

I have created an Active Directory domain and I have tried to join the domain from a PC that is hooked to the same switch and the PC cannot join the domain. What should I look for? The Server and PC are running static IP addresses but I cannot ping the server.

I would appreciate any ones support in this matter.
