Active Directory Printers

I have had a printer server crash and was unable to remove printers through the normal procedure. I do not find the printers in Print Management, but they show in the list when I go to add a network printer from any system. Does anyone know how to remove a printer from AD when the print server that they were hosted on does not exist anymore? I have researched this on Technet and Googled for days on this with no breakthroughs.
