AD on a ISA 2004 server – is this a good idea?

by rfdswa . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

Hi,

I’ve just recently taking over a site where my predecessor installed a ISA 2004 server and also made it a backup AD (Domain Controller) as well. I’ve also noticed that there have been a few servers removed from AD that are causing some errors in the Event Logs. My questions are;

– Is this a good idea to have a ISA server as a AD controller as well?

– Any suggestions as to how to remove the servers from AD even though the accounts are no longer there?

I’m planning of replacing / migrating the existing servers to new hardware so I’m keen to get this all cleaned up so as not to ‘inherit’ any legacy problems.

Thanks,

Matt
