Add-on Serial Port for Notebook

I have a Compaq Presario 715 notebook running Win XP Home. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a 9-pin serial port, which I have discovered a need for. Is there a USB-to-serial connector that Windows will see and apply a COM port to?
