add second xeon microprocessor problem

I use a Dell PowerEdge 1600sc server with a 2.4 Ghz processor running on OS Windows 2000 Server. When I add the optional second 2.8 Ghz Intel Xeon microprocessor I lose all video. I’m not a real IT guy, just an advanced user. Can anyone offer a suggestion?
