Adding an IDE hard drive in SCSI system.

I have added an IDE hard drive to a SCSI system on a WinNT 4 SP6 PC. The problem is that under Disk Administrator you can see the IDE hard drive but no drive letter. You can assign any drive letter but when the PC restarts it looses the drive letter. The PC boots from the SCSI hard drive. The SCSI controller is onboard.
