Address Conflicts in Netware 4.1

by bizpro . Updated 20 years, 5 months ago

I admit, I’m more that a little rusty with this version of Netware 4.1. Life is easy with DHCP Server/Client, but this version is giving me a headache. A cable broadband connection became available to my rural client. I switched them from DirecTV IP to the cable and replaced the hub with a D-Link Router and switch, and all seemed well. To avoid a conflict between the Netware Server and the router, I disabled the DHCP Server in rounter. I am begin getting conflicts during workstation logons with other workstations losing connectivety. I think my failure of knowledge in manipulating address assignments in Netware 4.1 is at the root. Should I assign permenant addresses in Netware or disable Netware in favor of the DHCP Server in the router? or something else? By the way, my client doesn’t want to upgrade because this version has been bulletproof for them. Please help me, I’ve fallen and can’t get up!
