Administrator password change

I have a small network with an old WinNT3.51 server that was demoted to a BDC when a WinNT4.0 server was added to the LAN. I subsequently changed my administrator’s password on the new server. However, when I log on to the old server, it still recognizes my old password. What did I do wrong and how can I remedy the situation?
