Administrator Rights Server 2000

I am administering a server for a company running Server 2000. I logged in to the domain using the Administrator user name and password. It acts like it does not have admin rights. I do not have group policies configured on it. When I log on to the computer locally as administrator I can do anything. The user name and password are the same. Why does it say I don’t have admin rights when logging in as Administrator on the domain but I do have them when logged in locally?
