ADO.Net Devolpment, C#.net or C++.net

Hi,
I am new in Application Development. I Am now designing Databases using SQL Server Technologies (2005,2008). I am looking for ways to develop client applications to connect to the databases to manipulate data. There’s so much information out there that sometimes you really do not know where to start and the question is really simple: Where do I start? ADO.net? C#.net,,,,???/
Any help will be appreciated
