Adprep in Windows 2000

Hi, I wish to confirm this installation before I proceed.

My IT network is as follows:

Windows 2000 based domain.
I have one Windows 2000 Server – which is a DC. This system has SP4 installed.
The above-mentioned system is also running Exchange 2003 Server.
Installed Windows 2003 Server on a new system recently and would like to add it to the domain.

My understanding is that I have to run Adprep / forestprep and /domainprep before this happens.

Would this task cause any issues to the Windows 2000 domain controller which currently has Exchange 2003 server running on it.
