ADSL modem and Router Configuration

I have 1700 router without the ADSL module. However, I have ADSL modem by itself and I would like to connect the ADSL direct link (no user id or password but with static IP) to the ADSL modem and from ADSL modem Lan Port to Router FastEthernet 0. Can I do this way and if yes, can advise me on the router configuration?
