ADSL sharing on an XP machine

Trying to figure out how to share my DSL connection within our small home LAN.
Tried Wingate, tried Sygate, Tried ICS, tried putting the modem on the HUB (not supported).
When trying ICS it tells me that someone already has the address 192.168.0.1assigned. All our adresses are static but i get the feeling the modem itself uses 192.168.0.1
Is there a way around this. Or does someone have some good tips for configuring Wingate.
We managed to get wingate working fine with a dial-up and even manged a tiny bit of activity with the DSL but not much.
The host PC is XP and the other two are ME.
the modem is a D-link 300. Network cards are not bridged (and i should think they wouldn’t need to be)
