advice needed – ditching win2k server for a new win2k3 server

Hi,

We have an old win2k DC that we plan to replace with a new shiny Win2k3 DC

I don’t have much experience with these OS’s, so if I’m confident I can manually install and config the new Win2k3 box to match the settings (DNS, DHCP, user accounts) of the old box, is it just a case of unplugging the old box from the LAN and plugging in the new one ?

The old box is plagued with problems, so I’m loathe to transfer any of these to the new box. Hence my need for a clean break from the old box.

LAN size is only 20 users
The Win2k DC is the only one, and it handles DHCP, DNS and user accounts.

Thanks all
Dax
