Alerts on NT

New to NT (4) administration. Can anyone tell me what are the basic logs and reports to start recording using performance monitor. There is one server with about 25 concurrent connections running Oracle 8i using VB as a front end.

Unacceptable application response during peak level and occasional memory / virtual memory overload.
