Animated GIFs in PowerPoint97

How can I get animated GIFs into PowerPoint97? PowerPoint help indicates that on ly the 1st image of a multi-image GIF file is inserted by the image filter. Is there another filter available that will save the whole image file? Or does someone have another work-around?
