I have a Compaq 233MMX, 64MB RAM with an embedded 10/100 UTP NIC set to AUI and 10Mbit (required for the network.) It is connected to an NT network using TCP/IP as it’s primary logon. When the user logs in, his logon script runs, and then the computer pauses at his wallpaper for about 60 seconds. After that, the icons show up and everything finishes loading. I have reinstalled network protocols, clients, updated drivers, installed patches and service packs (Win 95A) to no avail. The computer logs in and Windows with no problems without TCP/IP installed, but our remote management system requires TCP/IP (well, my SysAdmin requires it). This thing is really starting to drive me nuts…any thoughts? By the way, for those wondering why 60 seconds is a big deal, 1. It shouldn’t do it 2. It’s the first thing I haven’t been able to fix around here 3. The user is high up in the company, so resolution would be good for me…
