another HP problem

I am experiencing problems w/ my printer. I have a deskjet670c and the cartridge cradle is stuck in the middle of the slide bar (or whatever you call it). It’s making this awful crunching sound as the cradle is trying to go back to its original position but it just won’t go back. Also, I’m having trouble turning it on and off. Somehow, 1 push on the power button is not enough to power it on or off. I have to press it continuously before it powers on/off. Any suggestions?
