another USB freeze problem

by siomai09 . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

1st. the laptop is in Vista. I reformatted it to make it into XP. the drivers in the toshiba disc are not for XP so I downloaded every drivers that I need. everything works fine. then I let my sister to borrow it.

She said she had left it in a bed so it overheated. everytime I try to power it up it ask for a password w/c we didn’t even set. So I looked up for a solution and end up reseting the CMOS. >>https://www.techrepublic.com.com/5208-6230-0.html?forumID=101&threadID=220572&start=0

after that the password is gone! yay. but what I didn’t know is the USB not working. I’ve read some post regarding this but still no progress. the only thing I haven’t tried is the PCMCIA USB.
