Anti virus/malware

Am I being conned? I have AVAST anti virus, HITMAN PRO & iOBIT installed, as well as Windows Defender.
All these report DIFFERENT threats, my question is;
Are these “threats” real or are they being generated by the software to make me believe they are doing their job?
