Any resources for win7 on a 2003 domain?

I have a 2003 domain, and mgmt is pressing for windows 7 PCs on the domain. This wouldnt be an issue but there are mandatory/roaming profiles in place and not much out there to talk of how to manage it properly without 2008 server (which wont happen until late in the year) I know about RSAT running on a Win7 PC to create the GPOs, but WMI scripting is involved as well, but no resources on M$ site to suggest how to handle it….any suggestions on where else to look or anyone here that has already gone this route willing to answer a few questions?
