Any tips for being successful with learning Linux?

by s1helly . Updated 3 years, 7 months ago

I am learning Linux for work. I’ve been using Virtualbox with Ubuntu and CentOS to try to learn this while reading the LPIC 101 book along with taking a Udemy course. I understand a lot, but there’s some things that I’m not quite understanding. I am being thrown all of this information at once and some of it is confusing me as it feels like I’m missing the fundamentals of it somehow. It’s a lot to take in as I’ve only used windows OS my entire life. I am going to attempt to do a dual boot on my windows desktop with RHEL tonight, but once I have it up and running, I’m not sure what to actually do to help me learn outside of the exercises in this book. Any tips to help as my job depends on being comfortable with and able to efficiently use Linux? Anything at all (things to try to do, videos that may have helped things click with you, etc.) would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA
