Any tips on how to kickstart SecuROM ?? …

I’ve just spent over an hour trying to authenticate an installation of ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’.

The installation itself ran OK I suppose, if about an hour is standard for the installation time!

But I keep getting the timeout pop-up saying the server could not be reached within the time limit. I’ve checked that the optical drive is set with ‘DMA if available’ but I’m damned if I can get the game to authenticate.

Any tips or tricks with SecuROM ?

My current bandwidth is sitting at:
Uplink @ 383kbps
D/link @ 6583kbps
